HISTORY
Derapage is a French term primarily associated with motor racing. It describes a controlled drift: a fast and demanding way of negotiating a bend, balancing the performance of the vehicle with the precision and instinct of the driver.
To push beyond the limit without losing control.
To change direction while maintaining a precise trajectory.
DERAPAGE eyewear is born from the same combination of engineering, control and design. The automotive heritage shapes the brand’s identity.
DERAPAGE is more than a name. It is a philosophy.
A daring manoeuvre demands confidence, instinct and perfect coordination. So does DERAPAGE. THE LOOK IS FOR THOSE WHO DARE.
THE ESSENCE OF THE BRAND IN ITS NAME: ITS ORIGINS, ITS INSPIRATION AND ITS VISION
The DERAPAGE eyewear collection was created in Turin in 1985 by Alberto Vitaloni, an entrepreneur whose family history was deeply rooted in the Italian automotive industry.

Since 1929, the Vitaloni family company had been designing and manufacturing automotive components and accessories. That technical knowledge, manufacturing culture and passion for performance were transferred to eyewear. Alberto Vitaloni envisioned eyewear through the world he knew: mechanical workshops, advanced materials and aerodynamic forms — a world in which every detail has a function and every line contributes to performance.
Designed in Turin and made in Italy, DERAPAGE has always pursued uncompromising quality and a futuristic vision of eyewear.
